More Options!

I'm super excited to announce that I am now offering more handmade options for invitations!  Today's brides are very into having wedding invitations that are uniquely their own, and buying handmade is becoming more and more popular.  My newest listing features one of my favorite pairings: burlap + lace.

The invitation itself is flat-printed and the background is a design made to resemble burlap and lace, but it will arrive in style with a chocolate brown envelope and handmade belly band of real burlap, lace and raffia:

Included in the set is also an outer envelope in cream so that the belly band remains intact in the mail.  The band slides off easily so guests can open the invitation without damaging the gorgeous lace.

I'm currently working on some more handmade options, including a fun new baby shower invitation.  Check back soon!

So This Is Love

I went to a friend's wedding last night that was so perfectly made for her and her husband and it kicked my wedding-invitation designing into overdrive!  So this morning I designed a new invitation inspired by one of the most romantic stories of all time.

I grew up knowing that when it came time for me to get married, I wanted to be a princess on my wedding day.  I chose a dress based on Belle's dress from Beauty and the Beast, rode in a horse-drawn carriage, and I used lots of pink in my decorating.  The best part, though?  Finding my prince who didn't mind letting me be a princess.  :)

Even if you don't want to incorporate princesses into the wedding itself, why not have a princess-themed bridal shower to let you and your best friends be as girly as you want?

Check back soon for new birthday party invitations!

Facebook Fan Giveaway!

So sorry for the lack of posts this month.  My husband and I are making a cross-town move and between orders and packing, I've not had much time for anything else!

From July 29 until August 8, my Etsy shop will be in vacation mode while I set up our new house (which includes my own office, yay!).  I will have access to my email, which will be listed in the shop announcement at the top of the page.

I am one week away from my shop's first anniversary, so when I come back, I will have an anniversary sale!  In the meantime, I've just announced my first giveaway on my Facebook page, which you can find here.  Once I reach 100 fans, every fan will be entered into a drawing to receive 50 free personalized business cards or calling cards!  So please spread the news and let's see how fast we can make this happen!  :)

I can't wait to get back into full swing!

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere!

It's been such a gorgeous week here that I was itching to create some flower-inspired wedding invitations.  While I obviously have a soft spot for daisies, I'm an equal-opportunity flower lover, so my newest designs feature some more of my favorite flowers: sunflowers and lilies!

This past week was insanely busy, as I fulfilled two of my largest orders to-date!  I'm definitely going to enjoy this holiday weekend before I start working on two more large orders early next week.  Happy Independence Day to everyone in the United States and Happy (belated) Canada Day to our friends a little farther north!  :)

Mason Jar Love

Summer is in full swing!  After spending many sweltering summers in Georgia, I find myself thoroughly enjoying the mid-80s temperatures and frequent wind gusts here in Illinois.

I've recently listed several designs that feature mason jars, which are pretty much the quintessential summer decoration.  They are proving to be very popular with summer and early autumn brides too!

I just designed this matching save-the-date card today:

This design has fireflies too.  It reminds me of a summer evening wedding:

I've got some more great summer designs in the works...think ice cream, polka dotted sea animals, and sweet little lovebirds!

Princesses Galore!

Now is the perfect time to mention just how much I love JW Illustrations.  Jessica is the talented artist who created the Beauty and the Beast clipart you can see in the previous post, and she also designed the super cute mermaid clipart I used for the following birthday invitation and thank you card designs:

How sweet are those?!  And just in case your little mermaid is a blonde or a brunette, those options are available too!  I have a lot of clipart that I haven't used yet, but I couldn't resist buying a few more princess designs from Jessica.  So keep checking my shop for new designs featuring a princess with seven little friends and one with really great hair.  ;)

Be Our Guest!

Goodness it has been a crazy month for me, hence the lack of a blog post in over two weeks!  This month I made a sale of 325 wedding invitation sets to one couple, and I also had a family friend visit for a few days.  In addition, spring and summer parties have begun, making me one busy girl.  :)

Another of my orders this month was to a friend whose daughter is turning 4 in July, and she wants a Beauty and the Beast party.  Since that happens to be one of my favorite fairytales, I was super excited to create a design for her birthday invitations and thank you cards.  This design is completely customizable and features the name of the birthday girl!

For an extra touch of princess awesomeness, there are matching thank you cards too!

It was so much fun designing these that I might have to do more featuring some other fairytale princesses.  :)  Be sure to check back!

Another Shop Makeover

I'm constantly brainstorming for new ideas on how to make my shop more visually appealing.  I liked my previous pink banner, but I felt that it may have drawn too much attention away from my products.  Introducing my new shop banner design...it's simple, fresh, and totally spring!

In addition, I've decided to alter the look of my product images.  I love having actual photographs of my products so that people can see what they look like when printed, but I felt that the thumbnails in my shop needed to be more uniform.  So, I'll be keeping the photographs, but the default images will be a little different from now on.  These new images will allow for a better view of the entire product.  Here's a glance at my new storefront (I still have a few products that need their images changed):

I think it is going to look really great when I'm finished.  Here's a close-up example of one, featuring my newest wedding invitation design in yellow and gray damask:

Hopefully this will be the last major makeover I decide to do for quite some time.  It's exhausting!  ;)

Postcards!

I've had several brides ask if I could turn their RSVP cards into postcards.  Originally, my answer was a hesitant yes.  I could in fact create a double-sided RSVP card that the USPS would accept as mail.  However, I was concerned that the cardstock I use would take quite a beating in the mail.

So I'm super excited to announce that I am now able to confidently answer yes to that question.  Daisy Design Shop has started offering RSVP postcards, as well as save-the-date postcards in any design!  These postcards are made of a high-quality, slightly glossy, and extremely durable type of paper.  Each set must be specially ordered, so they will take a little longer than my usual processing time (up to 3 weeks), but they're totally worth it!

Both the front and the back are completely customizable.  Here are some examples of RSVP postcards:

Postcards can save on postage too!  Here is a save-the-date design:

It's just about time for you spring 2012 brides to order your save-the-date postcards!  :)

Do the Robot

This morning I spent some quality time on Etsy discovering just how cute robots can be.  I'm definitely sensing a new obsession.  Here's a view of my Treasury made up of the cutest robot-themed stuff:

I am in love with the My Little Pony robot and I actually just bought the mini robot necklace last week.  :)

I was so inspired by all of this cute stuff that I had to make my own robot design.  And birthday party invitations it was.  Who wouldn't want a robot-themed birthday party?!  :)

You can definitely expect to see some more adorable robots in the future.  I've already told me husband that if we have a baby boy we are going with this theme.  ;)

Brand New Product!

I'm so excited to announce that I have added a brand new kind of product to my shops: Fan Programs!  Late spring and early summer are very popular times for weddings, and many couples are choosing to hold outdoor ceremonies and/or receptions.  If the weather is warm, many guests will choose to use their programs as fans anyway, so why not provide them with both at once?

These Fan Programs are made from two sheets of cardstock, mounted to a wooden stick, so they are durable enough to withstand even the longest ceremony.  :)  And, of course, they are completely customizable!

Speaking of wedding season, fall weddings are right around the corner!  I've started to receive orders from Autumn brides, so I've added several new fall-themed wedding invitation styles.  These can also be made into save-the-dates for 2012 brides who like to plan ahead.  :)

I'll be adding another new product before the end of April, so check back soon!

New Color Scheme

I have a friend who is having a baby in just a couple more months. She and her husband decided that they weren't going to find out the gender of the baby, so they've been on the hunt for gender-neutral decorations, which, it turns out, are quite difficult to come by. The end result was a bird/bumblebee theme in shades of gray, green, and yellow. When I saw the nursery, I was sold.

Since then, I've been working with those colors to make some new designs, including this bird-themed baby shower invitation:

I couldn't stop there, though!  I also made some adorable bird-themed stickers that are perfect for baby shower favors.

I've also been hard at work trying to add some new kinds of products to my shops.  Check back soon for the announcement!
